TRIO Leading and Learning Week Call for Presentation Proposals
The TRIO Leading and Learning Week is an opportunity for students, staff, faculty and community members to share knowledge that impacts success in higher education. It is a five-day individual development opportunity coordinated by the TRIO Student Support Services Programs with presentations/workshops by faculty, staff, students, and NEIU supporters. Our program theme is "Leading and Learning: Preparing Students for Success in their Education, Career, and Life." This semester sessions will be held on the 4th floor of the Ronald Williams Library from Monday, April 1, 2019 to Friday, April 5th, 2019 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Each session will be 50 minutes long.
You are invited to submit a session proposal for TRIO Leading and Learning Week. We welcome proposals for presentations and/or interactive workshops that relate to the following topics:
1- Career and Professional Development (i.e. Resume/Cover Letter Writing, Job Interview Prep, Networking, Professionalism, etc.)
2- Personal Growth (Organizational skills, Identifying/Developing your Strengths, Identity Exploration, Self-advocacy)
3- Financial and Economic Literacy (College Finances: FAFSA and Scholarships, Personal Budgeting, Taxes, Debt Management, Good Borrowing/Bad Borrowing)
4- Preparing for Life After College Graduation (Graduate/Professional Education, Career Opportunities or Readiness, Job Search Strategies)
5- Nutrition, Health and Wellness
6- Academic Skills Development (Test Preparation (ACT, GRE, TAP, GMAT), Learning Styles, Time Management)
7- Leadership, Growth Mindset, and Resiliency
8- Student Services and Resources
